Apply for the Alameda County Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Deadline to Apply to the First Lottery is
Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 8 PM

The Alameda County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is now taking applications from Alameda County residents (excluding Oakland and Berkeley) to receive up to 2 months of rental assistance or up to $3,500 to be used for back rent.  The program is targeting residents who are at 50% of area median income (AMI) or below.

Eligible applicants will be selected by random lottery system.  The lottery ends August 11, at 8 p.m.

Housing Assistance Programs in Oakland

The City of Oakland provides two programs to support housing stability: Keep Oakland Housed and Oakland Housing Secure

Keep Oakland Housed & Oakland Housing Secure both work with non-profit partners to provide legal representation, emergency financial assistance, and supportive services to Oakland residents at risk of losing their homes.

Housing Assistance Programs in Berkeley

The City of Berkeley's Housing Retention Program is offering COVID-19 Housing Retention Grants to households at or below 80% of AMI who have experienced COVID-19 related financial losses to help make back rent payments. Visit the COVID-19: Housing Retention Grants page for more information.
