Supervisor Keith Carson, CAO Susan Muranishi, Healthcare Services Director Colleen Chalwa and Supervisor Scott Haggerty receive the award

Community Immunity Honor Society, Top Honors Nationally in Civic Education and Public Information category

At their July 2018 Conference, the National Association of Counties awarded the Alameda County Healthcare Services Agency for an program launched in 2014 that helped determine why kindergarten immunization rates in Alameda County were lower than the state average over the previous decade. The program created four different categories into which schools were classified based on their immunization rates and helped spark a 1-year immunization rate improvement in local schools of nearly 8 percent, highest in California.
