ELIGIBILITY -Preference will be given to households who have a Housing Choice Voucher (tenant-based section 8), Shelter Plus Care Voucher or other similar subsidy.

Applications will be available online and at the leasing office when the waiting list for studios units opens on May 25, 2018 until June 1, 2018. ELIGIBILITY - At least one member of the household must be living with one of the following conditions: orthopedically disabled, physically disabled, single parent household, survivors of physical abuse, or at risk of homelessness.

Applications will be available online and at the property when the waiting list for two bedroom units opens on May 25, 2018. Applications must be received by June 8, 2018. A lottery will be conducted for all applications received by the deadline. Only the top 100 eligible applications will be placed on the waiting list for consideration. UPCOMING: Joint U.S. EPA/ California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Soil Study in West Oakland- Testing for Lead

  • The factsheet & map of the study area, is available at: http://response.epa.gov/UMSWestoakland 
  • Initial study results will be available in Fall 2018.  The website above is where study results, reports, and maps for the project will be posted.
  • Taking soil samples from the street, not private property. This area was selected because of the mix of industry, older homes that may be painted with leaded paint and nearby freeways. EPA and DTSC will analyze the soil samples for lead and other heavy metals.

Vote! on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018: Are you registered and ready? 

 Make sure your registration is up to date and that you know the process on getting your vote in! Check out these resources below to educate yourself on the process. 

 The Voter Registration Deadline

The voter registration deadline is always 15 days before an election (for the June 5th election, the voter registration deadline is May 21st). Voters should receive notice of the location of their polling place in the mail a few days before the election.

How to Register to Vote

1) Online: One way to register to vote is online. You will need your California driver license or California identification card number, the last four digits of your social security number, and your date of birth.

2) In person: You can also register to vote in person by going to the Registrar of Voters’ office at the Alameda County Courthouse, at 1225 Fallon Street, Room G-1, Oakland, CA 94612.

3) Picking up forms: You can pick up voter registration forms at locations like:

  • All offices of the Department of Motor Vehicle
  • All city clerks’ offices
  • All public libraries
  • All post offices

Then, mail your completed form to the Registrar of Voters.

4) Requesting forms be mailed to you: You may also call the Registrar of Voters at 510-272-6933 or the Secretary of State at 1-800-345-VOTE and a request that a registration form be mailed to you.

You will need to re-register to vote when:

  • You move
  • You change your name
  • You change your political party choice
