2018 Summer Pre-K Program Directory

The 2018 Summer Pre-K Programs directory is now available! Please note enrollment is limited to children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2018, who have not attended preschool or licensed child care.

  • Children entering the respective schools will have priority; however, children from additional neighborhood schools may be admitted as space allows.
  • Dates and times are subject to change. For any site in session during the 4th of July holiday, there is no school on July 4th.

Vote! on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018: Are you registered and ready? 

 Make sure your registration is up to date and that you know the process on getting your vote in! Check out these resources below to educate yourself on the process. 

 The Voter Registration Deadline

The voter registration deadline is always 15 days before an election (for the June 5th election, the voter registration deadline is May 21st). Voters should receive notice of the location of their polling place in the mail a few days before the election.

How to Register to Vote

1) Online: One way to register to vote is online. You will need your California driver license or California identification card number, the last four digits of your social security number, and your date of birth.

2) In person: You can also register to vote in person by going to the Registrar of Voters’ office at the Alameda County Courthouse, at 1225 Fallon Street, Room G-1, Oakland, CA 94612.

3) Picking up forms: You can pick up voter registration forms at locations like:

  • All offices of the Department of Motor Vehicle
  • All city clerks’ offices
  • All public libraries
  • All post offices

Then, mail your completed form to the Registrar of Voters.

4) Requesting forms be mailed to you: You may also call the Registrar of Voters at 510-272-6933 or the Secretary of State at 1-800-345-VOTE and a request that a registration form be mailed to you.

You will need to re-register to vote when:

  • You move
  • You change your name
  • You change your political party choice

The Oakland Youth Advisory Commission (OYAC) is recruiting for the 2018-2019 term! OYAC is seeking  emerging young leaders between the ages of 13-21 who represent the diversity of Oakland and show a strong commitment to community building and improving services and outcomes for youth. Applicants should thoughtfully consider their 2018-2019 calendar of academic and extracurricular activities before applying, and be confident that they can dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per month.To become a Commissioner, youth must;

  • Be between the ages of 13-21
  • Be able to participate a minimum of 10 hours, monthly
  • Submit the application and be appointed by the Mayor
  • Dinners and transportation reimbursements provided
