Licensed Contractors Needed for Housing Rehabilitation Program

The Alameda County Healthy Homes Department

is looking for

Qualified Licensed Contractors

to Bid on Housing Rehabilitation Projects

 

The Alameda County Healthy Housing Department provides housing rehabilitation and lead hazard control services to eligible properties in Alameda County. Projects range from minor repairs to major rehabilitation projects.

In an effort to ensure that housing rehabilitation projects are performed and completed to Alameda County program, health and safety, and industry standards, all contractors  interested in being included on the Housing Rehabilitation Program Contractor List must apply and be screened. To qualify, contractors shall meet the following requirements:

  • Be licensed by the State of California, and be bonded
  • Be insured for at least $1,000,000
  • Have worker’s compensation
  • Be able to successfully operate a small business
  • Have adequate financing and credit resources to complete projects
  • Provide the names and addresses of at least 3 clients who can provide a professional reference
  • Know building codes and laws relating to construction
  • Complete work on schedule, keep appointments and be on time
  • Organize and coordinate construction tradespersons
  • Communicate with all parties
  • Follow up complaints and call backs
  • Negotiate a resolution of disputes
  • Follow Program guidelines
