Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair & Painting Training on July 8, 2015
Alameda
County Healthy Homes Department,
a State of California and EPA-accredited training provider, invites property
owners and the maintenance crews of pre-1978 residential properties in
Alameda, Berkeley, Oakland and Emeryville to a FREE Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair and Painting Training. The EPA’s Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule
aims to protect the public from lead-based paint hazards associated with
renovation, repair and painting activities.
Under the RRP Rule, firms performing renovation, repair
and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, apartments,
childcare facilities, other child-occupied facilities built before 1978 must
be EPA RRP certified. Under state law, pre-1978 homes
are presumed to have lead-based paint and lead safe work practices are
required.
Whether you need certification or
just an expanded working knowledge of lead-safe work practices, please make
plans to join us. The Alameda County Healthy Homes
Department provides all course materials, and a full day of training. Upon successful
completion, EPA lead-safe renovator certification is offered for $50.
Training
Location: ACHHD Office, 2000 Embarcadero, Suite 300, Oakland. Plenty of
free parking.
Pre-registration is required. Seating is limited.
