Good afternoon,
Hope this letter finds you well. It has been very busy here at the County and even with some bumps in the road, things are moving along very nicely.
In the last newsletter the proposals for the County Supervisor's Summit were included. We will be heading down to Yuma on Monday the 27th to meet with the other 14 counties and get our work done!
I also wanted to make sure you see the link below for the State of the County in case you missed it you can watch it on youtube.
I hope you were able to check out the podcast "Creatures of Statute", this is absolutely fantastic information. I have included it again on this newsletter.
I hope these letters provide useful information. I enjoy doing them and I am always open for suggestions. If you have any questions please reach out. Your question may be of interest to others as well and I am happy to include it in the newsletter. I want to encourage communication, this will help with better understanding for all of us.
The purse auction was a great success the amount raised was $6,538.28. All of the proceeds go towards Breast Cancer treatment in Yavapai County. A big thank you to Essence Kitchen + Bar in Chino Valley for hosting the event and donating proceeds back to the cause. Also, thank you to all those that donated purses for the event and to the Prescott Free Clinic Board members and volunteers.
Our next Board Meeting will be November 5, 2025, if you can't attend in person watch the livestream here: https://www.yavapaiaz.gov/County-Government/Board-of-Supervisors/Meetings

Brownfield Assessment Grant
The Route 66 Brownfield Assessment Program is a $1.5 million grant initiative funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Managed by the Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG), this program brings together Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, and Yavapai counties to transform underutilized properties into community assets. With the help of an environmental consulting team led by Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., the program supports environmental assessments and cleanup planning activities for publicly and privately-owned properties across the four counties.
The program's main objective is to revitalize neighborhoods and bring new life to communities along Route 66 and within Yavapai County. By identifying and assessing potentially contaminated sites, developing cleanup plans, and engaging with local communities, the program aims to improve environmental quality, support economic development, and preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the area. Through this collaborative effort, the Route 66 Brownfield Assessment Program seeks to turn liabilities into assets, ultimately contributing to the region's growth and sustainability.
