Sun Link Streetcar 105, known as the “Comeback Car,” is set to return to service Tuesday, August 18. The streetcar will soon once again travel the Sun Link corridor, reconnecting with riders and the community that has made the system a part of Tucson’s transportation story.
Before Streetcar 105 returns to the tracks, Sun Link will host a media preview on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Sun Link Operations & Maintenance facility, 290 E. 8th Street. Media are invited to get a first look at the streetcar, capture photos and video, conduct interviews and collect B-roll ahead of its return to service.
The event will feature remarks from Sun Tran, Sun Van and Sun Link General Manager Mikel Oglesby and Sun Link Assistant General Manager Ruben Montenegro, along with special remarks from Tucson transportation historian Gene Caywood.
Streetcar 105’s return provides an opportunity to celebrate both Tucson’s transportation history and the continued role of Sun Link in connecting people, neighborhoods and destinations throughout the community.

El tranvía 105 de Sun Link, conocido como el "Comeback Car" (el tranvía que regresa), volverá a prestar servicio el martes 18 de agosto. Pronto, el tranvía recorrerá nuevamente el corredor de Sun Link, reconectándose con los pasajeros y con la comunidad que ha convertido a este sistema en parte de la historia del transporte de Tucson.
Antes de que el tranvía 105 regrese a las vías, Sun Link organizará una presentación previa para los medios de comunicación el martes 18 de agosto a las 10 a.m. en las instalaciones de operaciones y mantenimiento de Sun Link, ubicadas en el 290 E. 8th Street. Se invita a los medios a conocer el tranvía de primera mano, tomar fotografías y videos, realizar entrevistas y captar imágenes de apoyo (B-roll) antes de su puesta en servicio.
El evento contará con las intervenciones de Mikel Oglesby, gerente general de Sun Tran, Sun Van y Sun Link, y de Ruben Montenegro, subgerente general de Sun Link, así como con comentarios especiales de Gene Caywood, historiador del transporte de Tucson.
El regreso del tranvía 105 brinda la oportunidad de celebrar tanto la historia del transporte de Tucson como el papel continuo de Sun Link en la conexión de personas, vecindarios y destinos en toda la comunidad.
