 City of Tucson Awarded $11.5 Million in Grant Funding for Manufactured Housing Investments
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero was joined by HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary for Grant Programs, Kera Package and HUD Regional Director for Region IX, Rufus Wilson to announce a highly competitive $11.5M grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help the City of Tucson create long-term housing affordability and make investments in energy efficiency to benefit families living in manufactured homes. The City of Tucson is among 17 applicants out of 175 in the U.S. that received funding to help families invest in improvements to create housing affordability and make their homes safer.

Volunteers are needed for the annual Point-in-Time Count, a community-wide effort to take a census of individuals who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Pima County.
The Point-In-Time count, also known as the PIT count, will take place on Jan. 29, 2025, from 6 - 11 a.m. Volunteers will spread across the City and parts of Pima County to survey unsheltered individuals and gather some information. The count provides a snapshot of what homelessness looks like on a single night in Pima County.
The data collected during the count provides TPCH, Housing and Community Development, and civic partners with vital information on our community’s homeless population. The count is used to determine gaps in service and enhance support services for the unsheltered and is used to solicit funds from the federal government.

The City of Tucson's Commission on Equitable Housing and Development is looking to fill two vacant positions. Applications will be forwarded to the City of Tucson Mayor and Council for appointment.
Mayor and Council created the Commission on Equitable Housing and Development to assist in making recommendations and evaluating the challenges confronting the City of Tucson regarding the inadequate number of affordable housing units and high rates of poverty.
