DOWNTOWN LINKS PHASE III
STONE AVENUE/TOOLE AVENUE/FRANKLIN STREET INTERSECTION REOPENS
On Friday, August 27, 2021, at approximately 1 p.m. the Stone Avenue and Franklin Street/Toole Avenue intersection will partially reopen to travel.
Southbound Stone Avenue at Sixth Street will reopen to one southbound travel lane through the Stone Avenue Underpass. Westbound and eastbound turn movements to Franklin Street and Toole Avenue will not be permitted.
Westbound travel on Toole Avenue to northbound Stone Avenue will also reopen. Through travel and left turns at Stone Avenue will not be permitted. (See map)
On Monday, August 30, 2021, the Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street intersection will close to travel beginning at approximately 6 a.m. This closure is anticipated to be in place through March 2022.
The intersection closure will be in place while the contractor builds the new underground box culvert drainage system across Sixth Avenue that will connect to the existing drainage structure completed during the Downtown Links Phase I project. (See map)
During this closure:
- Only local traffic will be permitted between Sixth Street and Seventh Street.
- Vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian access to all businesses on Sixth Avenue between Sixth Street and Seventh Street will be maintained.
- Northbound Sixth Avenue will be closed at Toole Avenue. North and southbound vehicular travel will not be permitted through the Sixth Avenue underpass.
- Vehicular travel will not be permitted on Seventh Street between Arizona Avenue and Sixth Avenue.
- Pedestrian and bicycle access through the Sixth Avenue underpass will be maintained only along the east side of the roadway/underpass.
- Seventh Street, west of the Sixth Avenue intersection remains closed to all vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
The intersection of Fifth Street and Echols Avenue will be closed overnight on Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31. This closure allows the contractor to safely complete work on the sewer manhole located in the intersection. The closure will be in place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
The Regional Transportation Authority, a political subdivision of the state and independently governed, has invested more than $1.2 billion in transportation projects and services to improve mobility, safety, economic vitality and quality of life in the region. The RTA collects a half-cent excise (sales) tax from its special taxing district within Pima County to fund its 20-year regional transportation plan. INTERSECCION DE STONE AVENUE/TOOLE AVENUE/FRANKLIN STREET ABIERTA DE VUELTA
El viernes 27 de agosto de 2021, aproximadamente a la 1 p.m. la intersección de Stone Avenue y Franklin Street / Toole Avenue se reabrirá parcialmente al trafico.
Stone Avenue en la dirección sur en Sixth Street se reabrirá a un carril de circulación en dirección sur a través del paso subterráneo de Stone Avenue. No se permitirán las vueltas en dirección oeste y este a Franklin Street y Toole Avenue..
El trafico en dirección oeste por Toole Avenue al norte sobre Stone Avenue también reabrirán. No se permitirá las vueltas a la izquierda en Stone Avenue. (Ver mapa)
El lunes 30 de agosto de 2021, la intersección de la Sixth Avenue y Seventh Street se cerrará al tráfico a partir de aproximadamente las 6 a.m. Se prevé que este cierre esté vigente hasta marzo de 2022.
El cierre de la intersección durará mientras el contratista construye el nuevo sistema de drenaje subterráneo de alcantarilla que cruza la Sixth Avenue que se conectará a la estructura de drenaje existente que se completó durante la Fase I del proyecto de Downtown Links. (Ver mapa)
Durante el cierre:
• Solo se permitirá el tráfico local entre Sixth Street y Seventh Street.
• Se mantendrá el acceso de vehículos, bicicletas y peatones a todos los negocios en Sixht Avenue entre Sixth Street and Seventh Street.
• El trafico al norte sobre Sixth Avenue esta cerrado en Toole Avenue. No se permitirá el tránsito vehicular en dirección norte y sur a través del paso subterráneo de Sixth Avenue.
• No se permitirán el trafico en vehículos en Seventh Street entre Arizona Avenue y Sixth Avenue.
• El acceso de peatones y bicicletas a través del paso subterráneo de Sixth Avenue se mantendrá solo a lo largo del lado este de la calzada / paso subterráneo.
• Seventh Street, al oeste de la intersección de Sixth Avenue permanece cerrada a todo el tráfico de vehículos, bicicletas y peatones.
La intersección de Fifth Street y Echols Avenue estará cerrada durante la noche el lunes 30 de agosto y el martes 31 de agosto. Este cierre permite al contratista completar de manera segura el trabajo en la alcantarilla ubicada en la intersección. El cierre será a partir de las 8 p.m. a las 5 a.m. cada noche.
La Autoridad de Transporte Regional, una subdivisión política del estado y gobernada de manera independiente, ha invertido más de $ 1.2 mil millones en proyectos y servicios de transporte para mejorar la movilidad, la seguridad, la vitalidad económica y la calidad de vida en la región. La RTA recauda un impuesto especial de medio centavo (sobre las ventas) de su distrito fiscal especial dentro del condado de Pima para financiar su plan de transporte regional de 20 años.
