Reminder of Tonight's PFAS Meeting |
|
Reminder of today's PFAS meeting that Council Member Kozachik is hosting. Last week the state allocated $2M for us to build a temporary pipeline extending our TARP treatment plant over to the Santa Cruz River. The purpose is to allow us to continue operating the plant, but to do so without serving the contaminated water to the public. Last week Steve shared with you that shutting down the plant was the result of PFAS concentrations so high that the filtration system in the plant would be overwhelmed. But if we’re diverting the outflow to a reclaim use, the plant can continue operating. That’s important because it allows us to keep the plume from expanding and migrating.
Here’s the link for the meeting. We’ll begin at 6pm and end at 7:30pm. We appreciate your concern, and your involvement in staying current on this issue.
