CITY OF TUCSON WINS 2021 NATIONAL CHALLENGE FOR WATER CONSERVATION - The City of Tucson recently won the Wyland National Mayors' Challenge for Water Conservation for cities with populations between 300,000 and 599,999. The challenge is an annual campaign presented by the Wyland Foundation and Toyota, with support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National League of Cities, and other partners to promote environmental sustainability and water and resource resiliency. In April, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero called on community members to pledge to conserve water and other resources, and they promised to save 50 million gallons of water. As part of the next steps, residents from winning cities will be entered into a drawing for thousands of dollars in water-saving or eco-friendly prizes.
