DOWNTOWN LINKS
Sixth Avenue, between Sixth Street and Seventh Street, is scheduled to be re-striped beginning at 8 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020. The restriping operation will provide back-in parking along the east side of Sixth Avenue and parallel parking along the west side. Sixth Avenue is scheduled to reopen to vehicular travel by 3 a.m. Friday, October 9.
- Sixth Avenue will be closed to all vehicular travel between Sixth and Seventh streets during the restriping operation.
- Crews will paint over all conflicting existing stripes and re-stripe new lines with temporary paint, as well as re-paint the existing stop bars and cross walks at the Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street intersection.
The Regional Transportation Authority, a political subdivision of the state and independently governed, has invested more than $1.2 billion in transportation projects and services to improve mobility, safety, economic vitality and quality of life in the region. The RTA collects a half-cent excise (sales) tax from its special taxing district within Pima County to fund its 20-year regional transportation plan. La Avenida Seis, entre la Calle Seis y la Calle Siete, está programada para ser repintada a partir de las 8 p.m. el jueves 8 de octubre de 2020. La operación de pintar proveerá estacionamientos de respaldo sobre el lado este de la Avenida Seis y estacionamientos paralelos sobre el lado oeste. La Avenida Seis está programada para volver abrir al tráfico a las 3 a.m. el viernes 9 de octubre.
- La Avenida Seis estará cerrada a todo el tráfico entre las calles Seis y Siete durante la operación de pintar.
- Los equipos pintarán sobre todas las rayas existentes y volverán a pintar las rayas nuevas con pintura temporal, tambien volverán a pintar las rayas de paradas existentes y los pasos de peatones en la intersección de la Avenida Seis y la Calle Siete.
La Autoridad Regional de Transporte (RTA), una subdivisión política del estado y gobernada de forma independiente, ha invertido más de $1.2 mil millones de dólares en proyectos y servicios de transporte para mejorar la movilidad, la seguridad, la vitalidad económica y la calidad de vida en la región. La RTA recolecta un impuesto de medio centavo de su distrito fiscal especial dentro del Condado de Pima para financiar su plan de transporte regional de 20 años.
