PIMA COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT HELPS BUSINESSES AND THE PUBLIC NAVIGATE REOPENINGS - The Pima County Health Department this month launched a media campaign to help educate the public about how to find restaurants, pools, and attractions that meet the department’s COVID-19 operating requirements. The program, called Ready For You, is tied to the Board of Supervisors May 21 Proclamation establishing required COVID-19 protective measures for restaurants, County-leased visitor attractions, and pools operated by resorts, hotels, fitness centers, and gyms. Though Gov. Doug Ducey has again closed gyms and bars, the program will still apply to those facilities when they are ready to reopen. Businesses that meet the County’s requirements will receive the Ready For You emblem to display at entrances and use in marketing materials and social media. Read the news release Ready for You

USE NEW BUDGET TOOL TO PROVIDE INPUT TO MAYOR AND TUCSON CITY COUNCIL - The City of Tucson created a new Participatory Budget Tool in English and Spanish to provide a summary of the budget and gather public input. Community members can assign discretionary funds to different areas of the City’s budget. The Mayor and Tucson City Council will review the feedback from this process, Budget Town Hall meetings, and the city manager's recommendation prior to adopting the FY21 Budget. The full recommended budget has been posted on the City’s website, and a public hearing will be held tonight, July 7, and July 21 on the Tentative Budget before adoption of the Final Budget. Individuals wishing to speak during the public hearings (subject to technological availability) can join the meeting via teleconference. You must submit a written request to cityclerk@tucsonaz.gov. It's too late to comment during tonight's public hearing, but you have until noon on July 21 to request to speak at the next one. Both public hearings take place during the 5:30 p.m. Mayor and Council meetings. Budget information and links to Participatory Budget tool in English and Spanish
