Mesa's Green Yard Waste Barrel Program
The City of Mesa’s Green Yard Waste Barrel Program is a recycling service that allows residents to separate and recycle their green yard waste (such as grass, leaves, plant trimmings, and small branches) instead of putting it in the black trash barrel.
-
Saves landfill space by diverting organic yard waste from landfills.
-
Reduces trash barrel size if you have more than one black barrel, you can exchange one for a green barrel and lower your monthly trash bill.
-
Reduces plastic use as there is no need to bag or tie materials.
-
Supports environmental goals because collected waste is composted into mulch or used as raw material for other products.
What’s accepted: Unbagged grass, leaves, plant trimmings, small tree branches & prunings (cut into 24" sections, no larger than 12" in diameter).
For more details or to sign up, visit MesaRecycles.org or call Mesa Customer Service at 480‑644‑2221.
