 Community Newsletter April 2026
Happy April, Neighbors!
I’m excited to invite you to join us for Celebrate Mesa on April 11! This free, family-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with neighbors, enjoy local entertainment, and celebrate all that makes Mesa such a vibrant community.
As we move into April, the City of Mesa officially kicks off budget season—an important time when departments present their proposed budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. I encourage residents to stay informed and engaged by tuning into our Study Sessions and Council Meetings, as your input plays a vital role in shaping the future of our City. View our meeting calendar, agendas and presentations, and tune in to Mesa Channel 11.
Lastly, applications for Fall 2026 are now open for the Mesa College Promise Program. This impactful program helps make higher education more accessible by covering two years of tuition and fees at Mesa Community College for eligible students. I encourage those who qualify to take advantage of this opportunity and invest in their future.
If you ever have any questions, want to share about issues that are important to you, or if I can be of assistance, please reach out to me at district4@mesaaz.gov or 480-644-3004. My door is always open.
-Councilmember Jenn Duff

It’s Time to Celebrate Safe Digging Month!
April is a great time to start those outdoor projects—but before you pick up a shovel, make sure you’re digging safely! Always contact Arizona 811 at least two full working days before you dig to have underground utility lines marked. Utility lines can vary in depth, and several lines may be located in the same spot, so having them marked keeps everyone safe.
After you contact 811:
- Wait until you hear back from all the utility companies listed on your ticket.
- Hand-dig within two feet of the marked lines and protect any exposed lines.
- Keep all locate marks visible during your project; they’re valid for 15 days.
Digging safely helps prevent injuries, damage, and outages. Calling 811 is easy, free, and required by law.

Something new is serving up excitement in Downtown Mesa!
Mesa Padel Club, located at 219 W. Main St., is preparing for a grand opening mid-April. The newly installed courts look fantastic and are already adding great energy to Main Street.
Padel is a dynamic doubles sport that draws from both tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court that encourages fast-paced, social play. Mesa Padel Club brings four professional Padel Galis courts into a stylish, outdoor setting that blends modern design with the urban vibe of downtown Mesa.
