City of Mesa welcomes new city manager Scott Butler
Scott J. Butler has assumed the role of Mesa's City Manager. In his first address to the City Council, Butler outlined a vision for addressing Mesa's challenges through innovation and efficiencies, while building upon the City's strong foundation of fiscal responsibility and public service excellence.
“Mesa is at an inflection point,” Butler told the Council. “I share your mission of addressing our structural budget challenges with the same fiscal discipline that families use at home. We must live within our means while innovating and delivering the exceptional services our residents expect and deserve.”
The new City Manager also emphasized a commitment to balancing business-friendly processes with demanding standards, ensuring Mesa continues to uphold its historically high standards of customer service.

Mesa Business Builder Educates U – college classes for small businesses
Small businesses participating in the Mesa Business Builder Small Business Assistance Program are eligible to enroll in college classes at Mesa Community College and earn a certificate in any of 14 different programs. Tuition and course fees are covered by the program for up to two individuals per business to take up to two classes per term. Enrollment is now open for the Fall semester, with classes beginning August 23. Certificate programs include:

- Entrepreneurial Studies I
