April 2025 Watering Reminder

Desert Wildflowers

Enjoy the next few cooler days because a warming trend kicks in after Saturday. Now through June, expect low humidity, drying winds, and little to no rain. This is a crucial time for irrigation as many plants emerge from dormancy. While some have already started, don’t forget that many trees will be shedding leaves before bursting forth with new growth in the coming weeks.

It's still a great time to plant and make irrigation repairs. Find our checklist to prepare your landscape for summer's sizzle!

Take in this beautiful time of year as fresh green leaves emerge, the air fills with the sweet scent of orange blossoms, and vibrant spring flowers put on a spectacular show!

Recommendations below are for plants that are established in the landscape (in the ground about two years).

Lawns

  • Summer grass (Bermuda) - once every 7-10  days

  • Overseeded cool season grass (rye) - once every 4 days

Trees & shrubs on same valve

  • Desert Adapted - once every 20 days
  • High Water Use - once every 10 days
