The headquarters of the Mesa Police Department will be soon undergoing construction, prompting temporary relocation for its personnel. Employees have been moved to various satellite locations around the city to ensure continued operations without disruption. While the main building is being renovated, the department remains fully functional, with a focus on maintaining public safety and service during this transition period.
During this time if you need to visit headquarters, you can still call: 480-644-2030

 Spring Safety Starts with You!
As the days get warmer and nights stay cool, it’s easy to let your guard down. The Mesa Police Department wants to help you keep your home, car, and valuables secure with these next-level safety tips:
-
Make Security Smart – Use smart locks, video doorbells, and security apps to monitor doors, windows, and garages remotely. A quick phone check can prevent a break-in!
-
Hide in Plain Sight – Burglars window-shop, too! Use privacy window film or automated blinds to keep valuables out of view without blocking natural light.
-
Garage Doors Aren’t Just for Cars – Think of your garage as a second front door. Use a timer or smart garage opener to ensure it’s never left open too long. Bonus tip: Add a security sensor to alert you if it’s left open!
-
Driveway Security 2.0 – Motion-activated driveway cameras and smart floodlights help deter late-night prowlers before they get close.
-
Park Smart, Lock Smarter – Never leave key fobs, mail, or garage remotes in your car. Use RFID-blocking cases to keep keyless entry vehicles from being hacked!
-
Toolboxes & Truck Beds = Easy Targets – Lock everything down! Use tamper-proof locks on toolboxes and strap down loose equipment to prevent grab-and-go theft.
-
Neighborhood Watch Goes Digital – Stay in the know with neighborhood apps like Nextdoor, Ring Neighbors, or local Facebook groups. If you see something suspicious, report it!
-
Out of Sight, Out of Mind – Leaving for the weekend? Put a hold on mail and deliveries to avoid advertising an empty home.

The mission of the Mesa Police Department Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) program is to support members in providing police service and to promote community partnership. The program provides a range of opportunities for individuals to contribute their skills and expertise while gaining valuable experience in various aspects of police work.
Mesa Police Department Volunteers do more than support the units they serve—they go above and beyond for the entire department and the community. Their dedication shines through in every event and initiative they take part in, whether assisting at celebrations of life, helping at Cops and Bobbers, supporting the City of Mesa Library, or participating in critical exercises like the Mesa Gateway Airport Triennial Training. Their commitment ensures the success of our department and strengthens our connections with the community. We are incredibly grateful for their time, effort, and the grace with which they represent Mesa PD. To all our volunteers—thank you for all that you do! 👏💙

Mesa Public Schools Communications & Engagement Department recently recognized the Mesa Police Department’s SPARC (Sports, Programs & Activities Reuniting Community) Program with the Individual, Business, Foundation, or Civic/Community Contributions to Public Education award from the Arizona School Public Relations Association (ASPRA).
This honor reflects our commitment to enhancing public education through meaningful contributions, innovative programs, and strong communication efforts. Through SPARC and other initiatives, we continue to create positive opportunities for Mesa youth. Recently, we successfully completed our 4-week SPARC soccer program, serving 45 students, having hosted their final game at Mesa High School. This was a great experience for the youth and their families, as well as our partnering schools. We are also excited to kick off our next session for SPARC basketball starting in April, where we hope to be able to service approximately 40 students. We look forward to continuing these impactful initiatives and strengthening our partnership for the benefit of our students and community.

Held nearly twice a month, Mesa Day is a key step in our hiring process, bringing 20-40 applicants each session to tackle POPAT and receive guidance from the Hiring and Recruiting Units. Applicants also get crucial insight on completing their eSOPH background packets accurately. Those who don’t pass POPAT get fitness plans and have up to nine months to train and retest—ensuring we support motivated candidates in their journey to MPD.
