Save Water, Save Money: Celebrate Fix a Leak Week!
Did you know that fixing silent leaks—like a running toilet—can be one of the easiest ways to save both water and money at home? That’s why we celebrate Fix a Leak Week every year to raise awareness about the significant amount of water wasted by common issues like dripping faucets, leaking toilets, and broken sprinkler heads.
This year, Fix a Leak Week runs from March 17-23, and we’re encouraging you to take action! Not sure where to start? Visit our Save Water Indoors and Out page for a wealth of resources, including:
- DIY videos to help you get started
- Tips for reading your water meter
- Step-by-step guides to tracking down leaks around your home
- Fun activities for kids to learn about water conservation
Together, we can make a big impact by finding and fixing leaks. Let’s save water—and money—one leak at a time!

Did you know you might own a natural gas line?
Mesa owns, operates, and maintains the gas piping systems up to and including the meter outside homes and businesses. Piping from the meter to every gas appliance, indoors and out, belongs to the property owner and is the owner’s responsibility to maintain, much like plumbing and electrical systems. This piping should periodically be checked for signs of leaks, corrosion, and rust. Contact a licensed professional for assistance if you suspect an unsafe condition and need repairs.
Remember, if you are planning a digging project, call Arizona 811 before you start, and be sure to hand dig when working near any buried piping.

I had the honor of attending the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service, a moving tribute to the courageous men and women of the Mesa Fire and Medical Department who gave their lives in service to our community. Their dedication, courage, and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their legacy lives on in the lives they touched and the community they protected.
I encourage everyone to visit Mesa Firefighter Memorial Park at 305 E. 2nd Street, Mesa, AZ, to pay their respects and reflect on the sacrifices made to keep us safe.
