Learn How to Lessen Your Water Bill with this Lesson
 Your Water. Your Impact. Know, Compare, Save. How much water does your household use compared to how much you should be using? By reading your water bill, and knowing your expected use, you can take control of your water usage. Our simple water use calculator will help you estimate your optimal water use based on your household, number of occupants, landscape, etc.
If your monthly usage is higher than those estimates, we have tips and tricks to help you reduce your use, conserve water, and save money. As a bonus, you can order a water-saving kit and get it mailed directly to your home to provide even more savings. Mesa Offering Heat Relief Services to Help Save Lives This Summer
As temperatures reach the triple digits, Mesa is informing the public of its partnership with Maricopa County Public Health and local organizations to provide heat relief services for unhoused individuals and other vulnerable Mesa residents. A federal grant from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), along with some of the City's general funds, will be used to offer programs and services during the extreme summer heat. Anyone in need of assistance may dial 2-1-1 within Maricopa County to speak with a live person (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) to get help finding cooling and respite centers, water and other heat relief support like utility assistance and A/C repair and replacement.

The Arizona Sustainability Alliance will be leading this project, in partnership with the City of Mesa, American Forests and Tree Theory.

Free Trees Available for Fall Tree Planting
July 13, Aug 1, or Aug 24. SRP customers can attend a webinar this summer so that they can qualify for two free trees in the fall. Registration now open.

Thanks to new technology and equipment at our recycling vendor's sorting facility, Mesa is expanding its Blue Barrel Recycling program to accept new materials. (Yay!)
The new recycling list includes (we've underlined new items):

Cans: Metal food cans, aluminum beverage cans.

Cardboard: Clean and flat cardboard.

Paper: Paperboard (empty cereal boxes, tissue boxes, soda boxes and prepared food boxes), mail, newspaper, magazines, office paper.

Plastic: Water bottles, juice bottles, milk jugs, detergent bottles, soap and shampoo bottles, clamshell produce containers, yogurt and margarine containers, condiment bottles.

Glass: Bottles and jars of all colors.
