Happy May Neighbors!
I hope this newsletter finds you well! As we quickly approach summer break, don't miss out on the many camps, activities and events hosted throughout the city at our Mesa facilities. There is plenty of fun for everyone! Registration is open and spots are filling up quickly, so don’t miss out on the summer fun – join us today!
Last week we had the pleasure of meeting with Representative Greg Stanton. We are grateful for his support in securing federal funding to upgrade city infrastructure, including smart meters and aging water mains. While our water portfolio is strong, we must prioritize conservation efforts. Let's stay committed to #WaterConservation!
Lastly, there is a lot to celebrate this month. I first want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers in our community! Your love, strength, and dedication are truly appreciated. Wishing you a day filled with love and joy!
Finally, congratulations to all of our Mesa students who will be graduating from high school and college this spring! Your hard work, dedication, and resilience have paid off. As you embark on this new chapter in your lives, may you continue to learn, grow, and achieve your dreams. I am so proud of you!
If you ever have any questions, want to share about issues that are important to you, or if I can be of assistance, please reach out to me at district4@mesaaz.gov or 480-644-3004. My door is always open.

Trade Your Grass for a Water-Thrifty Landscape
Converting your grass into an attractive Xeriscape landscape is one of the best ways to conserve water and energy, save money on your water bill and reduce maintenance. In addition, there are hundreds of attractive low-water-use plants to choose from that can replace your water-thirsty grass.
The good news is that the City offers an incentive of up to $1,100 to residential customers for future conversion projects. Find out if you qualify!

Did you know you might own a natural gas line?
Mesa owns, operates, and maintains the gas piping systems up to and including the meter outside homes and businesses. Piping from the meter to every gas appliance, indoors and out, belongs to the property owner and is the owner’s responsibility to maintain, much like plumbing and electrical systems. This piping should periodically be checked for signs of leaks, corrosion, and rust. Contact a licensed professional for assistance if you suspect an unsafe condition and need repairs. Remember, if you are planning a digging project, call Arizona 811 before you start, and be sure to hand dig when working near any buried piping.
