April 2023 Watering Reminder

Desert Wildflowers

April through June is typically a dry period with low humidity, drying winds, and little chance of rain. It is a critical time to be providing irrigation as many plants are flushing out with new growth. We also have a warm week ahead but a cool down by the weekend. And, a quick reminder that many trees will be dropping leaves to flush out with new growth in the next few weeks.

It's still a great time to plant and make irrigation repairs. Find our checklist to Prepare Your Landscape for Summer's Sizzle!

Enjoy this beautiful time of year in the desert, with spring blooms and fresh green leaves.

Just go to MyWaterPledge.com, let them know what City you live in, then check off the items you do each day to save water around your homeYou can pledge any time between April 1 to April 30.

The artist, Wyland (known for marine life murals), began the initiative when we observed how our oceans & marine life were impacted by pollution like plastics. He created this annual competition to reward residents for positive conservation behavior and to put a spotlight on the impact everyone can have with their daily choices to save water and to improve water quality... like saying "no" to plastic straws.

Be entered to win 100's of prizes, including $3,000 for your home utilities. We know it's early, but right now Mesa is trending at number two for our population category, just behind Tucson. We don't want Tucson to beat us, do we?
