Carbon Monoxide Safety

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is produced when fuel-burning appliances are not operating or vented properly. It is colorless, odorless and toxic. The initial symptoms of CO poisoning are similar to the flu and may include tiredness, headache and nausea. If you experience any of these symptoms in your home, there may be unsafe CO levels.

Home Safety Tips:

• CO detectors are recommended - check batteries annually.
• Follow manufacturers' instructions for care and use of gas appliances and equipment.
• Replace furnace air filters monthly throughout the heating season.

If you suspect CO is present, get fresh air immediately, seek medical attention for symptoms and call 911 or 480-644-4277.

The Fiesta BUZZ is coming to West Mesa

The Fiesta BUZZ is coming to west Mesa effective October 24. This FREE service will run every 30-minutes, Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to midnight and Saturdays 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The route connects Mesa Riverview, the Asian District and the Fiesta District. It stops at major locations like MCC, Banner Desert Hospital, Mekong Plaza and Sloan Park. 

Homebound Delivery Service

Are you or someone you know a homebound Mesa resident?

Mesa Public Library will deliver library materials to Mesa residents who cannot get to the library due to mobility, health or disability barriers. The homebound delivery service provides a free once-a-month selection of books, DVDs, magazines or audiobooks to those with no other means to get library materials.

1st Annual Mesa Singer Songwriter Festival

The FREE festival will feature singers and songwriters from around the globe in various venues throughout downtown November 17 - 19. Event highlights include performances by over 200 artists, keynote address by music industry VIP, clinics with notable musicians and live art installations. All are welcome!

Ironman Arizona Route in Mesa

Ironman Arizona will return to Tempe and Mesa on Sunday, Nov. 20. The event will run from Tempe Town Lake through northwest portions of Mesa from at 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (roadway restriction schedules will be extended prior to the event for setup).

We understand the race may impact your Sunday route. Here are a few tips on getting around the City on the event day:

• Use the WAZE app to navigate around the road closures.

Now Available - Text Option to Request Building Inspections 

Building inspections can now be requested directly from the jobsite or anywhere else just by texting. Confirmation of the inspection is texted back instantly! There is no need to go to the office and use the computer. 

To schedule, reschedule or cancel an inspection by text, send a text message to 480-644-2428. The message should contain the inspection type (S=Schedule; RS=Reschedule, C=Cancel), permit number, three-digit inspection code and inspection date.
