WaterTower Music announced details of the soundtrack to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM), the second in a trilogy of films by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkien. The soundtrack will be released on December 10, 2013, three days before the December 13 release of the film.

Various Artists. One of the most anticipated movies of 2013 also comes with one of the most talked about albums of the year. Along with Coldplay's Atlas, their first new material since 2011, it boasts tracks from Christina Aguilera, Imagine Dragons, and more.
