The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has issued a HIGH POLLUTION ADVISORY (HPA) for PM-10 (Coarse Particulate Matter) effective Friday, November 15, 2013.
Children, active adults and those with respiratory illness should restrict their outdoor activities.
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO:
• AVOID driving on dirt roads and using off-highway vehicles.
• AVOID using leaf blowers and gas-powered lawn and garden equipment.
• REDUCE driving or combine trips. Ride the bus, light rail, carpool or telework if possible
• ELIMINATE wood burning in fireplaces, stoves, chinineas and outdoor fire pits.
• STABILIZE loose soils.
• AVOID other activities that generate dust.
