TRAFFIC ALERT: MCKELLIPS ROAD – CLOSURE EXTENDED AND EASTBOUND TRAVEL TO BE DETOURED

Due to supply delays and construction activity adjustments, the re-opening of McKellips Road between 92nd Street and Alma School Road has been delayed and will reopen at 5 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2025. 

On Monday, July 14, 2025, eastbound travel will be closed on McKellips Road between the State Route Loop 101(SR101L) and 92nd Street. Drivers traveling on SR101L will be asked to exit at McDowell Road. Local detours will be in place to guide travelers. 

Westbound McKellips Road will be fully open to travelers. 

This traffic change will be in place until early August 2025.  

Work on McKellips Road will continue as crews install curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and a roadway median, as well as new asphalt pavement to McKellips Road between the SR101L and 92nd Street.

• Where: McKellips Road between Alma School Road and the SR101L. 

• Travel Restrictions: 

• Eastbound travel will be CLOSED between the SR101L to 92nd Street, and OPEN from 92nd Street to Alma School Road. Watch for detours. 

• Westbound travel will be OPEN between Alma School Road to SR101L. 

• When: New travel restrictions begin at 5 a.m. Monday, July 14 through early August. 

• Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Occasional weekend or holiday work may occur if required.  

Work hours may begin earlier during the spring/summer months.  

Schedule is subject to change for reasons beyond MCDOT’s control, including: weather, equipment failure, supply delays or other circumstances.
