Three Weeks

Schedule Your Biometric Screening Today, Don't Delay!

Sites are filling quickly, so schedule today, don't delay. Click here for a list of screening locations, or here to schedule your screening. You can also click on the Biometric Screening page to answer any questions you may have about the process.
There are only three weeks remaining to complete your Biometric Screening and Health Assessment Screening. Screenings end April 21st.
Not only will you gain valuable information about the state of your health, you can take advantage of the premium reductions offered by the County during Open Enrollment.

Please take your Cigna medical card to your appointment.

The Spring Fling Challenge concludes on Saturday, March 31st.  All individuals and team captains should submit their scores by Tuesday, April 3rd. Winners will be announced in the April 6th edition of Wellness Works. Good luck to everyone!
Here’s how to report your points:
  • Individuals:  send your grand total to Jan Hertzfeld. Include name, department, and total points.
  • Teams: team members report your individual scores to the team captain; the team captain sends the team's grand total to  Jan Hertzfeld. Include team name, department, and total points.

New Years Revolution

April-May Wellness Challenge:

Get Ready to Join the Resolution Revolution!

Remember those New Year's resolutions?  Think hard.  We are deep into spring and it's time to revisit the resolutions you made in January!
The new, six-week challenge is Resolution Revolution. It encourages you to take care of your whole self, body and mind. You will earn points for eating fruits and veggies, exercising, getting enough sleep and relaxation.
This individual challenge will run from April 16 - May 25, 2012. Contact Heather Lehman, Maricopa County's Cigna Health Coach to register.

Peggy and Jan

Our Weekend Warriors Are Back!

Peggy Allen, of the Board of Supervisors District 1 office (and Jan Hertzfeld, Fitness Coordinator, right in photo), competed in her first triathlon sprint - “Tri for the Cure” on Saturday, March 25th. The event benefits the Phoenix affiliate of the Susan G. Koman Foundation. Peggy swam 400 yards, biked 8 miles, and ran 2 miles. This was her first triathlon and she finished with a smile on her face. She is now getting ready for Ironman Arizona!!


Environmental Warriors
Autumn Martinez, Julie Pasquinelli, and Heather Thrasher participated in the Ragnar Relay, the overnight relay from Wickenburg to Tempe on February 24-25.
Autumn's team, "Chicks that Run" started at 5:30 a.m. on Friday and finished at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Heather's team was "Awesome Sauce." They started at 10:30 a.m. Friday and finished at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. "There better be beer at the end of this thing," Julie's team started at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and finished at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Congratulations to the Weekend Warriors on your accomplishments!
