A Year in Review
There has been a lot of change at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, but our employees have remained committed to the office's mission of holding criminals accountable and protecting victims rights. Here are some accomplishments of the past year.

Get a Safe Ride Home this Holiday Season!
Don't let one bad decision ruin your holiday season. If you plan to drink this weekend, make sure you plan for a safe ride home. Remember, an Uber, Lyft, or cab is cheaper than a DUI!
MCAO Wins 1st Place at the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade
MCAO won 1st place in the government-county category for our float at the Phoenix Veterans Day parade! County Attorney Rachel Mitchell accepted the award and met with WWII Veteran and Parade Grand Marshal Sam Weinstein. Thanks to our employees and volunteers for all of their work on our float and thank you to our Veterans for their service to our country.
Shred-A-Thon and Prescription Drug Take-Back
Our Shred-A-Thon and Prescription Drug Take-Back with the Glendale Police Department was a huge success! We had 484 people stop by and drop off over 15 tons of documents and 92 lbs of unused prescription medication. Stay tuned for more Shred-A-Thon events in 2023.
High School Mentorship Program
This month, MCAO's mentorship program brought Division Chief Ryan Green and Commander Karl Martin to Desert Vista High School to present a case study for a trial they worked on together. Students learned about investigation techniques, forensics, and were able to ask questions about the criminal justice system and career advice.
Operation Angel Tree
Last week, MCAO's Homicide Bureau paralegals showed some great holiday spirit when they stopped by the Salvation Army to help at their Christmas Angel Distribution Center! The team helped sort toys, wrap presents, and distribute turkeys to families in need.
