Heat Deaths Are On The Rise. 
Take These Steps To Save Lives.

Maricopa County Public Health reported a record-number of heat-related deaths in 2020.  Of the 323 deaths attributed to heat in 2020, 15% occurred indoors and 85% occurred outdoors.  While the majority of heat-related deaths occur in July and August, they can occur as early as April and as late as October each year.

Summer Reading Program Starts Today!

Looking for something for the kids to do as school lets out?  Adventure awaits this summer at your nearest Maricopa County library! Earn points to win prizes by reading, completing challenges and attending virtual performances. Home Construction Projects

Does it seem like a lot of people you know are doing home renovation projects?  We think so, too.  In fact, the Assessor’s Office says they’re processing nearly twice as many permits in the first few months of 2021 than they did over a similar time period the past two years. Maricopa County handles permits for home projects in unincorporated parts of the County. Remember: if you have a home construction project, get it permitted.  Permits are required for many projects and they protect both you and your investment!

American Rescue Plan Act Funds

Maricopa County is receiving funding through the American Rescue Plan Act.  The Board of Supervisors recently approved spending priorities for the first tranche of funds, including $60 million for business support, $40 million for housing, and $25 million for workforce support.  Look for more information in the coming weeks about how this federal funding is being put to effective use in the nation’s fastest-growing county.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park is a great place to visit during the hot
summer months and is known as one of the most scenic water
recreation areas in the "Valley of the Sun".  It's also the most popular park in the Maricopa County regional park system.
