Overall, children ages 0-19 have accounted for 16% of all known COVID-19 cases in Maricopa County since the start of the pandemic. . The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized for adolescents ages 16 and 17, and all ages 18 and up. At this point, there is not an approved COVID-19 vaccine for children under 16, although vaccine manufacturers are working on it
Please do you part to protect kids from COVID-19 by getting vaccinated yourself and making sure kids continue to take protective measures, such as mask wearing, outside the home.

Vaccines and Long-Term Care Facilities
Maricopa County Public Health has prioritized getting vaccine to long-term care facilities like nursing homes. Remember, these were some of the places hardest hit by COVID-19 early in the pandemic. Now, residents and staff at these facilities are getting vaccinated in large numbers. Of the 844 long-term care and assisted living facilities that have enrolled in Public Health’s vaccination program, 86% have already received their second dose while 6% have received their first dose. All told, that’s more than 14,700 vaccinations administered!
