Young And Unvaccinated? Be Smart.
As COVID-19 cases increase around the country, public health experts are seeing a greater percentage of young people getting sick and hospitalized with the disease. Since the pandemic started, 45% of all Maricopa County cases have been in people ages 25-44. It’s a good reminder that all of us—especially those who are unvaccinated—still need to be careful. Several new variants of the disease are thought to be even more contagious. Gathering in large groups, spending long periods of time in poorly ventilated places, and not wearing masks put you and others at risk!
If you’re not feeling well, stay home. If you have COVID-symptoms, find a place to get tested.

How Long Does Vaccine Protection Last?
Several vaccines have been authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). All COVID-19 vaccines have been proven to be highly effective at preventing serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19. At this point, we don’t know how long protection lasts. Ongoing clinical trials will help us answer that question.
