Protecting yourself and your loved ones means doing what works to slow the spread of COVID-19. Believe it or not, we are seeing more cases right now than we saw during the early parts of the summer surge. The pandemic is by no means over.
Please continue to take the virus seriously (just listen to this nurse’s experience). Stay home when you’re sick, mask up in public, and limit contact with people outside of your household. When it’s your turn to get a vaccine, we encourage you to do so.

Adults 55 And Older Are Eligible At All Maricopa County Sites
Maricopa County has an estimated 4.5 million people. While we’re excited that more than 715,000 Maricopa County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, it’ll be awhile before there’s enough vaccine for everyone who wants it. With vaccine supply limited, eligibility is, too.
As of today, the following groups are eligible to get vaccinated at any location in Maricopa County, whether it’s run by the state or the county.
Maricopa County is working on a plan to vaccinate frontline essential workers. Details will be released next week. You can find the latest information on eligibility at Maricopa.gov/COVID19Vaccine.

How To Find A Vaccination Location That Works For You
Have you used our vaccine finder yet? The interactive map at Maricopa.gov/COVID19VaccineLocations allows you to view vaccination providers in Maricopa County by the eligible populations they serve and the type of vaccine offered. You also can search by a location name or area near you. By clicking on your selected area on the map, a pop-up card will provide details about the provider, including a registration link. Below the map, you will find a text-based chart that includes a full listing of the same vaccine locations and registration links.
Remember: vaccine supply is limited right now, so appointments at these locations may or may not be available.

mRNA VACCINES
The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines use mRNA technology to provide protection. mRNA vaccines have been in development for years and have been proven to be safe and effective. mRNA is not able to alter our genetic makeup (DNA) and does not affect or interact with our DNA in any way. Instead, COVID-19 vaccines that use mRNA work with the body’s natural defenses to safely develop immunity to disease.
All three currently available COVID-19 vaccines have been found effective against COVID-19 and Public Health recommends getting the first vaccine you can.
