Maricopa County Public Health held a vaccination event at a senior housing facility in central Phoenix today. It’s one of 14 vaccination events to date focused on hard-to-reach populations around Maricopa County. Dozens more are in the works. Today, Public Health and its partners held a news conference to discuss how these specialized events are reaching older adults and people who may find it challenging to access the large public vaccination sites. |

What About Essential Workers?
A lot of people are wondering when frontline essential workers will be able to get vaccinated. New guidance from the state allows counties to begin working with employers to ensure front line workers who cannot telework and are public facing are prioritized. Now that we have that guidance, we will determine phasing and timelines for this important group. We expect to have more details in the next week.

School Vaccination Events
Maricopa County Public Health is getting educators and childcare providers the protection they need to safely do their jobs. To date, Public Health has held 27 events (like this one) for K-12 staff and childcare workers and has administered 41,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine at those events. Public Health is currently focused on second dose events for school districts and childcare providers within those areas. You can find more information at Maricopa.gov/COVID19VaccineSchools.

Vaccine Supply
The most significant limiting factor in our ability to deliver vaccines right now is supply. As more vaccine becomes available, we will be able to provide more vaccine to more people in more places across Maricopa County.
