Vaccination Data
Maricopa County Public Health’s role is to track and provide data related to diseases such as COVID-19, provide guidance about what these metrics mean for the community, and make recommendations based on the data to inform broader decision-making efforts.
When it comes to vaccine distribution, we are keeping a close eye on data so that we know who is getting the vaccine and if there might be populations or areas that require more targeted focus. Now, the public has access to the data we are using to make those decisions via a new dashboard. You can search vaccine data by city, ZIP code, age, gender, race, and more.

500,000 Cases
Over the weekend, we surpassed half a million confirmed COVID-19 cases in Maricopa County. That’s more than 10% of our population, and based on everything we know, represents only a fraction of the total number of people who have contracted the disease.
So what does this milestone tell us? It tells us that COVID-19 has been and continues to spread widely in our community. It tells us that, even with more of us getting vaccinated, it is still important for each of us to take the preventive measures that we know reduce our risk of getting or spreading COVID-19.
- Limit contact with people outside of your household.
- Wear a mask and keep six feet of distance when you are around people outside of your household. Remember, outside is safer than inside.
- Stay home when you’re sick, and be cautious even if you feel well in case you’re asymptomatic.
- Follow quarantine guidelines if you have been exposed to COVID-19.
- Wash your hands regularly.
- Get a flu shot if you haven’t already.
- Get a COVID-19 vaccine when it’s your turn.

New CDC Guidance
The Centers for Disease Control has put out additional information for Americans as they try to stay healthy and make good decisions.
Among them:
|
-
Mask guidance:
The most important thing is that everyone wear a well-fitting mask. A well-fitting mask should fit closely over your nose & mouth for it to be most effective. The better a mask fits, the more protection you have for yourself and those around you. There are many ways to improve fit and filtration of a mask. Any of the following options will improve mask fit:
- Wear a mask with a moldable nose wire
- Knot the ear loops on your mask
- Use mask fitters
- Use masks with head ties rather than ear loops
- Wear a cloth mask over a surgical mask
-
Quarantine for COVID-19 vaccinated individuals:
CDC says individuals who are fully vaccinated (both shots) do not need to quarantine after close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 if they do not have symptoms. This guidance applies for three months after the second dose is administered. List of COVID-19 symptoms
