Phase 1B Vaccinations Start Monday
|
|
Who Is In Phase 1B?
Prioritized populations for Phase 1B include adults age 75 and older, PreK-12 teachers and staff, childcare workers, and law enforcement/protective services workers. Adults living in congregate settings and other essential workers will be prioritized for vaccination in Phase 1B after these groups.

Where Will Phase 1B Vaccinations Happen?
People in Phase 1B will initially schedule appointments at existing POD sites that are not already booked for second doses for health care workers prioritized in Phase 1A. These PODs will serve both Phase 1A and Phase 1B populations.
Eventually, we anticipate more options outside of POD sites. This may include vaccinations at pharmacies for those age 75 and older and employer-based vaccination events through providers who have onboarded through the ADHS COVID-19 vaccine provider onboard system.
We want to assure residents that it is our highest priority to provide every resident the opportunity for a COVID-19 vaccine once vaccine becomes more widely available.

Be Careful. COVID-19 Transmission Has Never Been Higher In Our Community.
There’s a good chance you know someone who currently has, or once had, COVID-19. The spread of the virus is now consistently exceeding the levels we saw in summer 2020. The 7-day case average in Maricopa County as of December 31, 2020 was 4,625 reported cases per day, which is comparable to today’s case count (4,628).
Public Health strongly encourages you to act as if you or those around you have COVID-19. Wear a mask and keep six feet of distance when you are around people outside of your household. Absolutely stay home when you’re sick, but even if you feel well, know that you could be among the estimated 30-40% of COVID-19 carriers who display no symptoms. Asymptomatic people can still spread the virus.
Please, be careful. Take precautions daily. Do your part to help your community.

Board of Supervisors
Maricopa County supervisors elected a new Chairman today. Jack Sellers says he’s focused on building a brighter future for Maricopa County and a key aspect of that is ending the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My office will look to expand our efforts to educate on facts, especially when it comes to the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. The critics are loud; we will be louder,” Sellers stated. “We will continue to lead based on science and common sense.”
