Don’t Throw Away Your Shot
|
|
We have a shot to ease the burden on our healthcare system and keep people out of the hospital this flu season, but it’s going to take a community effort. Maricopa County residents banded together against COVID-19 by practicing social distancing, mask wearing, and good hygiene. Now, let’s make a similar commitment to getting our flu shots.
Public Health has free events and services to help (see below). The more of us who get vaccinated, the healthier our community will be.

3 Options To Get The Flu Vaccine
Getting the flu vaccine now makes it less likely you’ll get the flu this fall and winter, which is not just good for you and your family, it’s also good for our community. Public Health wants to make it as easy as possible for everyone to get a flu shot this year. Here are three options:
- Children 6 months through 18 years of age can receive free flu shots at one of our immunization clinics on weekdays (Monday-Friday) by making an appointment.
- If you have insurance, check with your health care provider or find a flu shot clinic near you using Vaccine Finder.
- If you are uninsured or underinsured, visit maricopa.gov/flu to find a community event where adults and children can receive a FREE flu shot. These free events are open to everyone in the community, including those with insurance. There are three events tomorrow, and more throughout October!

Time is running out to complete your 2020 Census. The census is the official count of how many people live in our community and it determines how much federal funding we’ll receive for key projects over the next decade. Completing the Census is easy, secure, and important. It should take only about 10 minutes of your time. Will you help?
