With summer nearly here and the statewide “Stay Home” order lifted, many people may be considering travel again.  However, the CDC is still advising against non-essential travel and many employers are limiting or restricting it as well.  Travel increases your chances of getting and spreading COVID-19, even if it’s domestic travel.

Maricopa County Public Health continues to lay the groundwork for expanded disease investigation and contract tracing.  Additional staff and new processes will help the county’s contact tracing effort keep up with increased demand because of additional COVID-19 testing.

Food insecurity is a growing issue in our community.  Maricopa County Public Health is working with local chefs, community partners, and school districts to make sure food previously delivered to schools doesn’t go to waste.

Maricopa County Human Services and Public Health departments are working community partners to assist those experiencing homelessness and other high-risk populations during the COVID-10 pandemic.  One part of that effort involves finding safer spaces for those at high-risk. Alternate housing sites offer access to food, clothing, and medical care to those who have fallen on hard times.
