Next Phase of Arizona Recovery
Decisions about reopening are being made at the state level, led by Governor Ducey. Earlier this week, the Governor announced the next phase of the Arizona Recovery, based on the state meeting certain benchmarks for testing, hospital capacity, and decline in the percentage of tests coming back positive.
|
Among the changes:
- Stay-at-home order expires May 15
- More services are allowed to resume or open including pools and gyms
- Individuals and businesses are encouraged to prioritize health and physical distancing as they make decisions
Environmental Health & Safety Inspections Continue
Guidance from the Governor’s Office includes recommendations separate from the food and health codes. Businesses are encouraged to review both.
What Individuals Can Do To Stay Healthy
If you’re at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 (adults age 65+ and/or people with serious underlying medical conditions), you’re still advised to stay home as much as possible. All people, not just high-risk individuals, have the potential of getting infected. Everyone is encouraged to follow safety recommendations, both for their own health and to prevent passing COVID-19 to others who are at higher risk.
|
People who do visit businesses and public places should take the following precautions:
- Stay at least six feet away from others
- Consider wearing a cloth face covering if you cannot maintain at least six feet of distance between yourself and others while out
- Do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth
- When leaving, use hand sanitizer
- When home, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
