Maricopa County remains under the official declaration of a local emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while the State of Arizona is under a “Stay Home” order through May 15, 2020. The Maricopa County Joint Information Center (JIC) is compiling a weekly list of resources for County residents to manage the physical, economic, social and emotional impacts of this declaration. Residents are encouraged to visit maricopa.gov/COVID-19 for the most up-to-date information.
Reopening
Decisions about reopening businesses are made at the state level, led by Governor Ducey. This week, retailers and salons were allowed to reopen to in-person customers. Restaurants will be able to reopen to dine-in customers starting Monday, May 11. Here is the guidance for those businesses released so far by the Governor’s Office.

Testing
If you’re experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, you may feel like you need to get tested for COVID-19 to ease your mind. People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – from mild symptoms to severe illness. You can use this coronavirus self-checker to help determine if you need to seek medical attention. If you choose to get tested, Arizona Department of Health Services and its community partners are providing additional testing locations this Saturday and next Saturday.
