Travel Reduction Program Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Variance Extension
Maricopa County, Arizona sent this bulletin at 04/28/2020 04:14 PM MST
To Our Participating Employers,
As always, the Maricopa County Travel Reduction Program (TRP) is focused on the health and well-being of our community members and staff. On March 20, 2020, in response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, TRP authorized a 60-day variance effective until May 18, 2020. The variance suspended organizational deadlines for TRP surveys and initial travel reduction plan submittals. During this time, Governor Doug Ducey enacted the “Stay home, Stay healthy, Stay connected” Executive Order, furthering Maricopa County’s physical distancing parameters.
TRP understands the affects the last few months have had on each employer. Therefore, an extension to the current March 20 variance has been granted until June 22, 2020. The variance allows all participating employers to temporarily suspend survey submittals and initial travel reduction plan submittals during the variance period noted above. Alternatively, if your organization would like to forego the variance and continue as scheduled, please contact TRP.
TRP encourages organizations to continue to promote their travel reduction programs. If your organization can still submit the required surveys and travel reduction plans with your normal submittal date, please do so.
The variance extension:
- Does not exclude, limit, or exempt companies from participation.
- Changes your TRP annual survey anniversary to a later date for those beginning to survey during the variance extension period.
- Extends your initial travel reduction plan submission to a later date for those plans due during the variance extension period.
- Suspends issuing incentives to employees during the variance extension period.
If you have additional questions, please email TRP at TRP@Maricopa.gov.
Thank you,
Maricopa County Travel Reduction Program
