Maricopa County has now received approximately 75% of its allotment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the Strategic National Stockpile. Maricopa County Public Health is working to distribute these critical supplies as they become available.
Long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice facilities are at greater risk for the spread of COVID-19. Public Health is providing guidance to these facilities to isolate residents immediately following a confirmed positive case. Public Health will also allocate additional PPE to these facilities in order to help them prevent spread. Overall case counts from long-term care facilities will be available to the public beginning tomorrow.
More people are wearing cloth masks in public because of the CDC’s new recommendations. Public Health wants to remind everyone that the masks are not a substitute for staying six feet away from others. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you have to leave your home:
