Maricopa County Temporarily Suspends In-Person Recording During Public Health Emergency, Provides Customers Options for Remote Services

(Phoenix) – To protect public health, the health of Recorder’s Office employees, and to comply with the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected” Executive Order issued on 3/30 by Arizona’s Governor, the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office is maintaining recording services but closing public areas and temporarily suspending counter availability at the Phoenix and Mesa locations, effective immediately. Kiosk locations throughout Maricopa County will also be temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

 

Digital recording customers and those with established electronic filing accounts will see no interruption in services received.

 

Below is more information about how the public or industry stakeholders can record documents with Maricopa County.

 

Option A: Any customer can mail a document to be recorded to 111 S. Third Ave., Phoenix, Az. 85003

 

  • The standard fee to record any document is $30.00; a check made out to “Maricopa County Recorder” is the only form of payment accepted via mail
  • Allow for 4-5 weeks for the recorded document to be returned
  • Allow 2 weeks before attempting to locate the recording using our grantor/grantee web search index

 

Option B: Any customer can go to deeds.com and set up an account to e-record (for a fee)

 

  • The County’s fee to record any document in this manner is $30.00 per document
  • E-record a document for a fee
  • Customers may purchase forms needed to record
  • Legal advice is not available, nor is assistance provided in the preparation of any form

 

Front counter services are also temporarily closed at Maricopa County election offices. Find election and candidate services updates here.

 

Office closures are expected to continue through the month of April, with updates provided as information changes.
