Media Advisory: Maricopa County Recorder’s Office and Elections Department to participate in Arizona Clean Elections Commission We the Voters Conference

PHOENIX- Maricopa County Elections Department staff and Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes and his staff are featured speakers at the Arizona Clean Elections Commission We the Voters conference on Oct. 26 in Phoenix. In addition, the county’s new tabulation and voting equipment will be available for attendees to try out. Pending successful pilot testing, the new tabulation and voting equipment will be used in 2020 and beyond.

This type of event is an excellent opportunity for voters to connect directly with election officials and learn more about how we run their election. New Voting Equipment Demonstrations:

Staff will also be running demonstrations of the award winning SiteBook check-ins and our new tabulation and voting equipment. In 2020, the Maricopa County Elections Department will roll out new ballots, tabulation equipment and accessible voting devices. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, in consultation with the Recorder's Office, approved the $6.1 million investment in order to modernize our voting technology and ensure we run elections smoothly, efficiently and with integrity in the fastest growing county in the country. Conference participants can test out the new elections equipment in the Exhibitor Hall, Room 121ABC.
