Statement: Maricopa County Recorder releases statement on the passing of Congressman Ed Pastor
PHOENIX— Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes released the following statement after the passing of the Honorable Ed Pastor:
“The passing of Congressman Ed Pastor comes as a shock to my family and me. Ed and my father were college friends. His wife, Verma, and my mother were suitemates at Arizona State University. His service to Maricopa County and our state spanned decades. Ed was a generous mentor to many of Arizona's leaders, and a strong, hard-working advocate for our communities. His lifetime of service leaves a legacy we can all be proud of, and we can try to emulate. His sense of humor and love of life are great lessons for all. He lifted those around him, often in ways that did not attract attention, but always with a drive towards making Arizona and our nation better."

PHOENIX- El Registrador del Condado de Maricopa Adrian Fontes hizo pública la siguiente declaración después del fallecimiento del Honorable Ed Pastor.
“El fallecimiento del Congresista Ed Pastor es un shock para mí y mi familia. Ed y mi padre eran amigos de la universidad. Su esposa, Verma y mi madre eran compañeras de cuarto en la Universidad Estatal de Arizona. Su servicio al Condado de Maricopa y nuestro Estado abarcó décadas. Ed fue un generoso mentor de muchos de los líderes de Arizona y un fuerte defensor y trabajador de nuestras comunidades. Su vida de servicio deja un legado del que todos podemos estar orgullosos y podemos tratar de imitar. Su sentido del humor y su amor por la vida son grandes lecciones para todos. Ed levantó a todos aquellos que lo rodeaban, la mayoría de las veces en formas que no llamaban la atención, pero siempre con un impulso para hacer que Arizona y nuestra nación fueran mejores."
