Maricopa County Employees Stepping Up to Help with the 2018 General Election

PHOENIX—The Elections Department is receiving an outpouring of support for the 2018 General Election from departments all across Maricopa County.

On October 3, The Elections Department sent out an email soliciting help from county employees. Since then, more than 250 county employees have volunteered. They include workers from the Courts, Clerk of the Court, School Superintendent, County Attorney's Office, Technology Office, Transportation, Animal Care and Control, Public Health and Human Resources.

"Maricopa County is not only an amazing place to live, it's also a great place to vote, and it's supported by compassionate, caring and dedicated people," Recorder Adrian Fontes said.

County employees who sign up will be trained to help set up voting locations the day before the election. Other departments within the county are also lending a hand by sharing their resources. For example, the Maricopa County Education Service Agency has allowed the Elections Department to use its facility to train board workers.

"County employees and departments are proving that we are united, and proud to be part of the Maricopa County team," Fontes said.
