National Adoption Day
The Clerk’s office will support the National Adoption Day celebration
this year at its Durango location with a full file counter staff, a courtroom
clerk for each participating division, and members of the management
team. Friday, October 5 is the adoption petition deadline to participate
in the 2018 event. The deadline for all other adoption paperwork is Friday, October
19 to participate in November’s event.
In addition to adoption petition filings, the Clerk’s office now receives
all subsequent filings for adoption cases at the Durango and Southeast
facilities. In previous years, subsequent documents were submitted to the court’s
Adoptions Unit and were filed with the Clerk’s office after the adoption
hearing. The Clerk’s office recently worked with the superior court and adoption
attorneys to transition all filings back to the Clerk’s office.
National Adoption Day takes place Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the
Juvenile Court Center located at 3131 W. Durango St. in Phoenix. The public is
welcome to attend this free event celebrating the adoption of children in our community. Attendees will find well-known local figures, mascots,
games, photo opportunities, and other ways to enjoy this family-friendly
celebration.
