the most pounds of food donated. 341 pounds of food were donated by the community at this year’s

Cradles to Crayons Tour
Round table discussion with Mrs. Angela Ducey, Hon. Janet Barton (Superior Court Presiding Judge), Hon. Timothy Ryan (Juvenile Court Presiding Judge) and Greg McKay (Director of Department of Child Safety)
Designed to help
infants, young children and their families, Cradle to Crayons (C2C) works
to remove barriers, integrate timely service delivery and
expedite safe permanency. The C2C approach supports the healing of the whole
family which helps to maintain family connections, secure attachment
relationships and reduce the trauma of disruptions and placement
changes. This approach focuses on families in the child
welfare and court systems with issues such as child maltreatment, substance abuse, domestic
violence, trauma and parental mental illness. C2C was implemented by
the Maricopa County Juvenile Department in 2012 with support of a generous budget from Maricopa County.
The C2C team invited several offices to tour the program and have a round table discussion for questions and updates.
Rural Policy Forum

I was invited as a guest speaker at the Rural Policy Forum that was held in Wickenburg. The Forum connects rural stakeholders who are interested in sustaining rural communities. Their goal is to hear strategies from national experts and learn success stories from around Arizona to give rural leaders the tools they need to face challenges.
