Three names were randomly drawn to win a $25 Harkins gift card plus medium popcorn voucher.
Congratulations to Diane Hilow, Media Specialist with Employee Benefits and Health. Diane has been taking the bus for at least eight years and she appreciates the many advantages to riding the bus including the time she has to catch up on the news, read a book, take a nap, chat with friends on social media, and the list goes on. Additionally, and foremost, the bus is a stress-free way to get to work because the driver deals with the traffic!
Congratulations to Robert Harwood, Finance Manager with the Department of Finance. Robert has been using alternative transportation for nine years and he likes not having to worry about rush hour traffic in addition to saving money and gas.
Congratulations to Angelina Diaz, Judicial Clerk with the Adult Probation Department. Angelina has been carpooling to work for approximately four years. The benefits she realizes include saving money, reducing her carbon footprint, and developing friendships with her carpool partners. She said that the laughter and joking on the ride together is one of the best stress-relievers.
One name was randomly drawn for a grand prize from all employees who indicated 20 or more days of alternative travel to work during the month of October.
Congratulations to Kimmie Wong, Senior Internal Auditor, she won the Rideshare month grand prize! Kimmie recognizes that there are many advantages to riding the bus which she has been doing for over 15 years, including lower car insurance costs, having time to nap or read, and time for fun conversations with her bus friends. Kimmie won gift cards to the Olive Garden, iTunes, and the Fractured Prune.
Nearly 30 employees registered an account at ShareTheRide.com during the month of October and were entered to win a $10 Starbucks gift card plus two Harkins movie passes. Instead of drawing one name, two names were drawn and a second lucky winner won a $10 Amazon gift card plus two Harkins movie tickets. Congratulations to:
-
Elizabeth Maymana, Assessor's Office ($10 Amazon gift card)
-
Marlene Olivas, Office of Procurement Services ($10 Starbucks gift card)
