Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) HOV Lane Improvement Project Requires Closures and Restrictions This Weekend (Aug. 12-15)
Drivers asked to plan ahead when traveling on the Loop 101 in the West Valley

As work continues on the HOV lanes on the Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway), drivers should be aware of a number of upcoming restrictions and closures, which include:

Eastbound Loop 101 closed between 7th Avenue and Tatum Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15) for rubberized asphalt paving. I-17 ramps to eastbound Loop 101 also closed. DETOUR for Loop 101: Traffic will use the frontage road (Beardsley Road) to Cave Creek Road, then south to Union Hills Drive, east to State Route 51 then north to reconnect with Loop 101. DETOUR for I-17: Traffic can use eastbound Union Hills Drive to access Loop 101 via State Route 51. NOTE: Northbound State Route 51 connecting ramp to eastbound Loop 101 will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 14) for installation of loop detectors. During this closure, traffic from Loop 101 will use Union Hills to Tatum Boulevard north to access Loop 101 at Tatum Boulevard.

Northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Bell Road closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 14) for ramp reconstruction. DETOUR: Exit at Thunderbird Road or Union Hills Drive and use 83rd Avenue to access Bell Road.

Southbound Loop 101 narrowed to one lane between Glendale Avenue and Bethany Home Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15) for installation of temporary concrete barrier.

• Southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Glendale Avenue closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15) for installation of temporary concrete barrier. DETOUR: Use Bethany Home Road.

Southbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Bethany Home Road closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15) for installation of temporary concrete barrier. DETOUR: Exit at Indian School Road and use 91st or 99th avenues to access Bethany Home Road.

Northbound and Southbound Loop 101 narrowed to one lane between I-10 and Bethany Home Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 13) for removal of temporary concrete barrier. Eastbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 will also be closed. DETOUR: I-10 traffic can exit at 99th Avenue and travel north to access Loop 101 at McDowell Road.

Eastbound Interstate 10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 closed from 1 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15) for rubberized asphalt paving. Detour: Exit at 99th Avenue and travel north to access Loop 101 at McDowell Road.

• 19th Avenue closed at Loop 101 from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 14) for bridge work. Traffic can detour along frontage road (Beardsley Road) to either 7th or 27th avenues and return using frontage road.
